Graham is seeking a detail-oriented Accountant to support the day-to-day accounting operations of a mid-sized nonprofit organization serving adults with disabilities in group homes and shared living supports. This role is ideal for an accounting professional with strong foundational accounting experience who is ready to take on increased responsibility in financial reporting, reconciliations, payroll coordination, and month-end close activities while partnering collaboratively across departments. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and able to maintain accuracy in a fast-paced environment while supporting compliance with accounting standards and organizational policies. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
  • 2–5 years of accounting experience
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting
  • Proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., Sage, NetSuite, or similar platforms)
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and working knowledge of Microsoft Word
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and post journal entries and maintain the general ledger
  • Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
  • Perform account reconciliations, including cash, prepaid expenses, and accruals
  • Support preparation of internal financial statements and financial reports
  • Ensure financial records are accurate, complete, and maintained in accordance with GAAP standards
  • Assist with reconciliation of development revenue, donor-restricted funding, unrestricted funding, and grants
  • Serve as the liaison between the outsourced payroll provider and internal staff
  • Coordinate payroll-related inquiries and ensure timely resolution of discrepancies
  • Support payroll documentation and reporting processes as needed
  • Prepare audit schedules and support the annual external audit process
  • Ensure compliance with organizational policies, procedures, and accounting standards
  • Maintain organized and audit-ready financial documentation
  • Partner with program and administrative staff to support budget tracking and expense monitoring
  • Assist departments with financial inquiries and reporting needs
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies
  • Support special projects and additional accounting functions as assigned
