About The Position

The Staff Accountant is responsible for general accounting operations, including month-end close and fixed asset management, to support the financial health and integrity of the organization. The role supports the Director of Accounting and a team responsible for daily, monthly, and annual accounting activities, including period close, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and external audits.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
• At least 2 years of experience in a related role.
• Knowledge of U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Advanced knowledge of the MS Office Suite, particularly Excel.

• Public accounting experience.
• Experience with integrated ERP accounting systems.

Responsibilities

• Prepare journal entries, reconciliations, and financial statements; identify variances and summarize financial status.
• Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
• Manage fixed asset records and reconciliations.
• Assist in developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies, strengthening internal controls and ensuring compliance with GAAP and other regulatory requirements.
• Support the Director of Accounting in improving day-to-day operations, period close, and financial reporting.
• Assist with annual audits by investigating and resolving audit findings, account discrepancies, and noncompliance issues.
• Support the periodic budgeting process.
• Prepare tax and other regulatory filings.
• Manage cash for retail locations.
• Provide secondary support for treasury, tax, accounts payable, and accounts receivable functions.
• Provide guidance and training to other accounting team members as needed.
