About The Position

RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join its accounting and finance team. Reporting to the Controller, this is a key role in the accounting function. The position handles day-to-day accounting activities, supports the month-end close and financial reporting processes, resolves accounting discrepancies, and helps ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP standards. Remote opportunities are available to candidates residing in specified states.

Requirements

Preferred undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance, with 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
Advanced Excel skills, including the ability to create pivot tables and use VLOOKUP functions.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal and written communication and organizational skills, with the ability to multitask.
Ability to work independently on deliverables and achieve accurate results.
Ability to prioritize conflicting demands and maintain excellent communication regarding deliverables.
Ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with senior management and others within the company.

Nice To Haves

Experience with an ERP system such as Sage Intacct.

Responsibilities

Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
Prepare journal entries with appropriate supporting documentation.
Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
Assist with the month-end close process, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
Meet deadlines for financial reporting and management review.
Support external auditors by providing requested documentation.
Ensure compliance with company policies, internal controls, and GAAP standards.
