About The Position

The Staff Accountant performs daily accounting functions including, but not limited to, Accounts Receivables/Payables, cash flow management, bank/account reconciliations, general journals, and preparing of financial reports, in accordance with organizational policies. This role is also responsible for assisting other employees with expense reports and managing vendor and customer relationships. The Staff Accountant is supervised by the Senior Staff Accountant and reports to the Controller. This position is based at Bridger Aerospace HQ in Belgrade, MT and is full-time.

Requirements

• Advanced computer skills, specifically Microsoft Word, Excel & Outlook
• Tech-savvy with the ability to quickly learn and navigate between multiple web-based systems and platforms on a regular basis
• Experience working with AI tools or willingness to learn

Responsibilities

• Manage Accounts Receivables/Payables and their related systems (e.g. Ramp, AIRS, IPP, etc.)
• Understanding of and Daily Management of Cash Cycle, which will include calling past due clients, forecasting receivables/payables
• Data entry
• Organizes all accounting records (digitally & physically)
• Maintains records of financial transactions by establishing accounts, posting transactions, and ensuring legal requirements compliance
• Develops/improves accounting policies and procedures
• Balances accounts by reconciling entries
• Maintains/balances the general ledger
• Prepares trial balances, reconciliations
• Approves employee expense reports and reimbursements
• Prepares financial reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing account information and trends
• Complies with contract legal requirements by studying requirements, enforcing adherence to requirements, filing reports and advising management on needed actions
• Ensures confidentiality and controls access to sensitive information
• Assists with audits and contract reporting
• Other related duties as assigned by the Controller
