About The Position

The Staff Accountant is responsible for supporting the full-cycle accounting process, maintaining accurate financial records, assisting with reconciliations, journal entries, financial reporting, and month-end close activities. The Staff Accountant will verify, allocate, and post details of business transactions from invoices, receipts, check stubs, and other supporting documents. They will summarize details in subsidiary ledgers or accounting files and transfer data to the general ledger. This role will reconcile and balance assigned accounts, and prepare and maintain accounting reports related to cash receipts, expenditures, accounts payable, accounts receivable, profit and loss, and other business operations. The Staff Accountant will also assist with invoice review, journal entries, payment records, billing support, and vendor/customer account follow-up as needed. This position supports month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities and maintains accurate accounting records and supporting documents through trial balance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or relevant degree, or a related field.
  • 1-2+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in a construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of accounting processes in a general accounting or corporate setting.
  • Have basic math skills for addition, subtraction, division, multiplication.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite products (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook, Teams).
  • Intermediate knowledge of accounting software or ERP systems.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Ability to effectively prioritize responsibilities depending on project needs.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and employees.
  • Ability to develop and maintain successful relationships with all levels of employees, clients, and subcontractors.
  • Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines while maintaining a professional attitude.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Arizona driver’s license.
  • May be required to travel to other sites within Arizona to perform certain work functions.
