About The Position

Neighborhood Health Centers of the Lehigh Valley is seeking a full-time Staff Accountant to work at their Bethlehem Administration office. The Staff Accountant performs payroll, general ledger, accounting for receivables and cash receipts functions, and also participates in managing the interface of Accounts Receivable between Neighborhood Health Centers of the Lehigh Valley's (NHCLV) Practice Management System and the General Ledger. Requirements

  • Undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university in accounting or finance or equivalent experience.
  • A minimum of 2-3 years Accounting experience in a progressive, complex and sophisticated accounting environment.
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel knowledge and experience is required.
  • Knowledge of Financial systems and processes.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, a collaborative style and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels, both orally and through written communication.

Nice To Haves

  • Blackbaud knowledge and experience is preferred.
  • Payroll experience is a plus.
  • Knowledge and experience in health care, including third party reimbursement mechanisms; grants management and FQHC considerations and applications is a plus.
  • Sound knowledge of compliance regulations for organizations working within the not-for-profit sector.

Responsibilities

  • Performs payroll, general ledger, accounting for receivables and cash receipts functions.
  • Manages the interface of Accounts Receivable between NHCLV's Practice Management System and the General Ledger.
  • Lead complex projects from start to finish.
  • Communicate effectively and lead others through change and new strategic initiatives.
  • Work within a team environment and assist with coaching and developing others.
  • Grasp the agency's short and long term priorities and develop systems, processes and policies to support the achievement of them in a cost effective manner.
  • Work in a fast-paced environment and be able to multi-task.
  • Demonstrate initiative and the ability to work effectively within time constraints.
