About The Position

The Staff Accountant is responsible for performing accounting functions such as accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll. Responsible for maintaining accurate and precise accounting.

Requirements

  • Appropriate industry experience (3+ years in a manufacturing environment preferred.)
  • High School Diploma or GED (BS Preferred)
  • 10th Grade Math Level
  • Two to three years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Basic understanding of financial analysis and accounting policies, procedures, programs, and processes.
  • Basic understanding of GAAP.
  • Possesses good computer skills.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret the most complex documents.
  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints.
  • Ability to clearly convey thoughts and ideas to all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

  • Prepares and analyzes financial statements
  • Prepares balance sheets and reconciliation
  • Conducts financial forecasting and budgeting activities
  • Performs month-end and year-end close processes
  • Ensures accuracy and compliance with accounting principles and regulations
  • Performs accounts receivable functions
  • Reconciles general ledger accounts
  • Prepares journal entries and maintains accurate records of financial transactions
  • Assists with preparation of tax returns and audits
  • Provides financial analysis and recommendations to management for decision-making purposes
  • Collaborates with cross-functional teams to improve financial processes and systems
  • Research and solve payment discrepancies
  • Track and submit 401K withholdings
  • Coordinate month end physical inventory, prepare worksheets and distribute to appropriate individuals and summarize results.
  • Performs payroll processing functions
  • Effectively perform any other duties as assigned or deemed necessary and appropriate.
