About The Position

Neighborly is seeking a Staff Accountant to join their team. This role involves performing monthly closing activities, ensuring compliance with GAAP and company policies, and assisting with financial statement reviews. The Staff Accountant will analyze financial information, prepare various financial reports, and review sales contracts. They will also be responsible for balance sheet account reconciliations, preparing commissions and bonuses, and supporting external audits. Proficiency in Microsoft Suites and ERP/financial systems is essential. Neighborly is a leading company in the home and business services sector, with over 40 years of experience and a global network of franchise owners.

Requirements

A minimum of two (2) years of recent related experience is required.
Intermediate-level knowledge of the Microsoft suite (Word, Access, PowerPoint, Excel, and Outlook) is required.
Working knowledge of ERP/financial system.
Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) in Accounting required

Nice To Haves

Experience with Microsoft Suites (Excel, Word, Outlook, Teams), Dynamics, Great Plains, SAP Concur, and Northridge Loan Management Software.

Responsibilities

Perform monthly closing activities, journal entries, account reconciliations, accrual schedules, variance analysis & commentary, financial statements, and reporting.
Ensure compliance with GAAP and Company policies and procedures.
Assist management with financial statements review.
Analyze financial information, reports (detailing income, expenses, assets, and liabilities), and prepare balance sheet, profit and loss statement, statement of cash flows, and other reports.
Review and record sales contracts.
Perform balance sheet account reconciliations.
Understand and apply generally accepted accounting principles.
Prepare commissions and bonuses for the approval process.
Prepare schedules, test samples, footnotes, and related disclosures in support of the external audit.
