About The Position

Join a growing accounting team as a Staff Accountant, where you will work closely with a senior team member to learn and gradually take full ownership of core accounting functions. This ramp-up role is designed for you to transition into managing key responsibilities within the first six months, including month-end close activities, general ledger maintenance, and reconciliations. You will gain exposure to multiple areas of accounting such as cost accounting, fixed assets, consolidations, and systems, while contributing in a fast-paced, hands-on environment that supports learning by doing.

Requirements

  • 2+ years of accounting or audit experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or a related field strongly preferred.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including working with data, formulas, and financial schedules.
  • Hands-on or audit-based exposure to account reconciliations and the month-end close process.
  • Experience working directly within the general ledger (GL accounting).
  • Ability to perform account and bank reconciliations and support balance sheet accuracy.

Responsibilities

  • Support the month-end close process by preparing journal entries, reviewing account activity, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Maintain general ledger activity by posting transactions, reviewing entries for accuracy, and resolving discrepancies as needed.
  • Perform account reconciliations, including balance sheet and bank reconciliations, to ensure accounts are accurate and properly supported.
  • Assist with cost accounting activities, including tracking and analyzing costs to support operational and financial decision-making.
  • Support fixed asset accounting by helping to maintain asset records, track additions and disposals, and assist with depreciation calculations.
  • Assist with consolidations and multi-entity or divisional accounting activities to ensure accurate combined financial reporting.
  • Contribute to system implementation projects by helping with testing, data validation, and process documentation as needed.
  • Support reporting and report writing activities, including preparing and validating financial reports for leadership and the finance team.
  • Assist with data validation to ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial data used for reporting and analysis.
  • Work directly within the general ledger and related systems, including D365 or Dynamics, to process and review financial transactions.
  • Collaborate with team members to address accounting issues, share information, and improve processes in a fast-paced environment.
  • Take increasing ownership of a full accounting function within the first six months, operating with growing independence and accountability.
  • Engage with leadership and the broader finance team to provide visibility into accounting results and support decision-making.
  • Ask questions, seek feedback, and actively participate in informal, on-the-job training to accelerate your learning and development.
