About The Position

The Staff Accountant position is an excellent entry-level role for someone with an Accounting or Finance degree and 1-3 years of related accounting experience in a fast-paced environment. We're a fast growing company and this role has a wide range of accounting responsibilities. The position reports to the Finance Director but will work closely with the entire corporate finance team. Requirements

A bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field is required
1-3 years of related experience in general accounting, accounts receivable or accounts payable is required
Basic knowledge of GAAP is required
Proficiency in Excel and other MS Office applications is required
Critically thinking
Able to grasp new concepts quickly
Must be detail oriented and organized
Must be a self-starter and be able to prioritize
Must have good communication skills
Ability to read, write, speak, and comprehend English

Responsibilities

Hands-on accounting role reporting to Finance Director in a dynamic manufacturing environment
This role provides opportunity to enhance business acumen by participating in various facets of the sales, operations, and accounting functions
Participate in month-end close process providing journal entries, account reconciliation, and variance analysis
Preparation of daily reporting package(s) that includes sales, bookings, backlog, and past due tracking
Support operations in tracking key metrics such as production labor and past due trends
Develop, prepare, and support work center rate analysis as well as other cost accounting functions such routing & bill of material analysis. Be able to show variance trends and support operations in improvements or key areas for focus
Analyze and prepare cost savings templates
Effectively be the Accounts Payable lead and help solve problems as necessary
Perform other ad-hoc analysis and data compilation as requested
Candidate must be comfortable being on a manufacturing floor periodically
