About The Position

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Staff Accountant to join our Finance team. This role supports the Finance Department by preparing monthly journal entries, reconciling balance sheet accounts and revenues, analyzing accounts and financial data, assisting with monthly financial reporting, participating in the annual audit, and contributing to the budgeting process. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting, excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, and a proven track record of enhancing financial processes and systems to improve accuracy, efficiency, and strategic decision-making. Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
3 - 5 years of accounting and/or audit experience.
Proficiency in accounting software and strong Microsoft Excel skills
Demonstrated ability to perform high quality, detailed work with minimum supervision within assigned deadlines.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly.
Strong people skills with a collaborative mindset, ability to work across teams and influence others.
Collaborative team player with a proven track record of driving process improvements.

Nice To Haves

experience with Sage Intacct and Prophix is a plus.

Responsibilities

Participate in the monthly close process by preparing timely journal entries, performing account reconciliations, investigating inconsistencies and variances, and ensuring accuracy and compliance with GAAP and internal policies.
Execute bank reconciliations with precision and perform monthly control activities to resolve discrepancies.
Maintain and update financial data within accounting systems, assist with system improvements and special projects, and provide timely financial reports and insights to ministry leaders and stakeholders.
Collaborate with the finance team and ministries during the annual budget process, prepare and file sales and use tax returns, participate in the annual audit to ensure proper accounting procedures and compliance with laws and internal controls.
Support process improvements, develop and maintain financial policies and procedures, and contribute subject matter expertise on various projects to enhance operational efficiency and financial integrity.
Actively participate in key events such as Christmas, Easter, and Christ Fellowship Conference.
Maintain flexibility for occasional after-hours or weekend assignments.
