About The Position

We are looking for a dynamic Staff Accountant to join our team in our Kansas City, MO office. You will work closely with our Controller and many different teams. This is an exciting, long-term opportunity for an Accounting professional with a public accounting background who is seeking a challenge and ready to transition into a corporate role. Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance and 1-3 years' of related experience.
• Public accounting experience a plus.
• General knowledge of payroll concepts and tax withholdings.
• Must be proficient with Microsoft Office applications, specifically needing advanced skills with Microsoft Excel.
• Experience with Viewpoint Software or an equivalent ERP system.
• Excellent written and spoken communication skills.
• Must be detail oriented and able to work under pressure and strict deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Assist controller team in reconciling all month end reports to the general ledger.
• Assist in preparing and monitoring budgets.
• Design and build Microsoft Excel based pivot tables.
• Assist in reconciling bank accounts on a monthly basis.
• Work positive pay exceptions daily.
• Process expense report postings daily.
• Assist in intercompany cash reconciliations on a bi-weekly basis.
• Assist controller teams with a variety of ad hoc requests as they arise.
• Assist in creating and verifying reporting provided quarterly to various stakeholders.
• Work with controllers on various aspects of month end close and the preparation of financial statements for multiple entities.
