About The Position

We’re seeking a Staff Accountant to join our growing finance and accounting team! As a Staff Accountant, you will not only be responsible for helping the accounting team close the books on a monthly basis and report timely and accurate financial results for the company but you will also be involved in ad hoc projects and process improvement initiatives. You’ll work directly on the core accounting team, and be a business partner to the tax, accounts payable, technical accounting/financial reporting, and financial planning & analysis teams.

Requirements

The ability to independently identify opportunities for automation and thoughtful AI use, with familiarity with (or enthusiasm for learning) various tools
0–2+ years of relevant accounting experience, we welcome new graduates who bring strong AI project experience, relevant coursework, or a demonstrated ability to apply emerging technology to accounting and finance problems
Proficiency in Excel is required
A willingness to roll-up your sleeves when work needs to get done
Self-driven and goal-oriented, with the ability to work independently, identify process improvements, and implement solutions
Ability to multitask and thrive in a fast-paced, high-growth environment where priorities evolve
Strong oral and written communication skills

Responsibilities

Use approved AI tools to improve speed, accuracy, and efficiency across core accounting workflows, reconciliations, journal entries, flux analysis, and close documentation, while applying strong professional judgment
Propose and implement process improvements, including thoughtful use of AI and automation, to streamline workflows and reduce manual effort
Perform month end closing activities and reconciliations for various accounts/processes. Areas of focus may include but would not be limited to: Cash, prepaid expenses, fixed assets, vendor accruals, credit cards
Be cross trained in most staff accountant areas to create leverage on the team
Prepare journal entries and reconcile account balances, ensuring to maintain accurate supporting records and documentation
Assist with monthly/quarterly/annual balance sheet and P&L flux analyses
Prepare documentation/support needed for SOX compliance
Assist Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) team with explaining budget v. actual variances
Assist with preparation of audit and review packages for external auditors
Help with ad hoc projects across all aspects of the accounting function
