About The Position

Open Sky Community Services is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Staff Accountant to join its Finance team. The role maintains accurate financial records, supports month-end close activities, reconciles accounts, and helps ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards. The Staff Accountant collaborates with programs across the organization to support financial operations and reporting.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• At least two years of relevant accounting experience.
• Strong analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills.
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and record recurring, reclassification, and adjusting journal entries with appropriate documentation.
• Perform monthly reconciliations of assigned accounts, including cash, receivables, prepaid expenses, and payroll-related accounts.
• Process daily cash receipts, cash adjustments, and loan, mortgage, and bond payment transactions across multiple banking institutions.
• Manage weekly mobile check deposits and maintain supporting financial records and documentation.
• Support purchasing card administration, including expense review, user training, account maintenance, and issue resolution.
• Assist with audits, respond to financial inquiries, and contribute to improvements in accounting processes, controls, and reporting practices.
