About The Position

The Staff Accountant is responsible for preparing and maintaining financial records to track the organization’s assets, liabilities, profit and loss, tax liabilities, and other related financial activities. This role must be willing and able to work extended hours including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed. Game Day Duties/Responsibilities: Assists Corporate Responsibility team at home games. Aids in set up and execution of planned activations. Prolonged standing, walking and extended work hours. Set up and tear down of activation tabling in concourse. Must be available to attend all home games for the Dallas Wings, as well as attend most community events. Games & events may take place on nights, weekends, and/or holidays. Performs other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business accounting, or finance
  • 3-5 years of accounting experience including preparing financial statement
  • Familiarity with accounting and corporate finance principles and procedures
  • Strong communication skills required – this role will interact with strong, action-oriented communication styles as well as strong, methodical, detail-oriented communication styles so this position will need to be able to adjust based on the audience
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to maintain positive, productive, and supportive working relationships
  • Excellent organizational skills & attention to detail.
  • Excellent time management skills with proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality

  • Intermediate to advanced excel and accounting software skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage the accounting department inbox and respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Prepare accounts receivable and accounts payable invoices for review and approval by the Senior Accountant.
  • Maintain and reconcile accounts payable and accounts receivable subledgers and support general ledger accuracy.
  • Monitor and resolve synchronization errors within CF360 to ensure data integrity and system functionality.
  • Update and maintain accounting trackers, schedules, and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with month-end close activities and other accounting projects as assigned.
  • Process and track vendor invoices, payments, and account activity.
  • Manage vendor records and maintain positive vendor relationships.
  • Coordinate payment notifications and send sponsorship payment confirmations when funds are received.
  • Process monthly player rent payments by the first day of each month.
  • Support per diem administration, tracking, and payment processes.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for internal accounting inquiries, providing timely assistance and issue resolution.
  • Train new Ramp card and account holders on company policies, procedures, and system usage.
  • Collaborate with internal departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and process compliance.
  • Assists Corporate Responsibility team at home games.
