About The Position

Power Solutions International (PSI) is a leading manufacturer of emissions-certified powertrains specializing in customized and fully integrated turnkey solutions for the leading global equipment manufacturers in the industrial, transportation, and energy markets manufacturers. Our facilities are housed in one million square feet of engineering, assembly, operations, and distribution space across seven facilities. We are positioned to meet the high production volumes of our customers with added capacity for growth. The Staff Accountant will assist the Senior Accounting Manager by preparing journal entries and reconciliations for the monthly general ledger close with the focus on cost accounting. Ensure that all deliverables comply with regulatory guidance and professional standards. Assist with accounting related general ledger and other special projects assigned by management. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in timely and accurate financial reporting as well as implementation of controls around operations and SOX compliance.

Requirements

  • Bachelor degree, preferably in Accounting
  • Direct applicable work experience on a year-for-year basis which built competencies and subject matter expertise in Accounting and/or Financial Reporting with a combination of public company experience.
  • Basic understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or CPA candidate preferred.
  • Epicor ERP system knowledge
  • Manufacturing industry experience.
  • Must be able to effectively handle multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent verbal, written communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to maintain and report confidential information in an appropriate manner.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in maintaining standard costs of finished goods and production components in an ERP system. (Epicor)
  • Assists in the review of unusual cost records, ensures cost data is allocated accurately and jobs are closed correctly.
  • Assist with various month-end closing procedures including preparing journal entries and related supporting schedules.
  • Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance.
  • Create financial and accounting ad-hoc reports for analysis by internal and external regulatory audit compliance.
  • Work on various special projects and perform other accounting assignments as needed.
  • Document policies, procedures, and workflow for assigned areas of responsibility.
