About The Position

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing reports, and supporting the broader finance function. The role helps ensure the department delivers reliable financial information to management and complies with accounting standards. Finance Shared Services maintains key transactional processes for the company while keeping a customer-centric attitude. The position is based in Kalama, Washington, and is listed as hybrid and full-time. It reports to the Accounting Manager.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in accounting or a related field.
1–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
Strong attention to detail.
Ability to prioritize tasks.

Nice To Haves

3+ years of experience in an accounting role.
Construction and manufacturing experience.
Experience with a large ERP system, preferably SAP.

Responsibilities

Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and accruals.
Complete reconciliations in accordance with company policy.
Maintain general ledger accounts or fixed asset ledger accounts.
Maintain accurate account coding and ensure compliance with company policies and relevant regulations.
Provide timely and accurate reporting.
Assist with implementing new systems and accounting standards.
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and account information, and prepare tax workpapers as assigned.
Manage other Shared Services functions, including sales tax, property tax, insurance, licensing, expense reporting, and cash.
