About The Position

The Staff Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting functions, with a primary focus on job costing and data entry, as well as account reconciliations, general ledger and journal entries, and audit support. This role works closely with internal teams to ensure accurate financial information, proper cost tracking, and timely reporting.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
  • Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills with a high level of attention to detail.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of manufacturing operations, including materials, labor, and overhead cost structures.
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial reporting tools.
  • Experience with job costing or cost accounting.

Responsibilities

  • Input and maintain job costs, including materials, labor, and overhead, into the accounting system for various manufacturing jobs.
  • Track and monitor job costs to ensure accurate allocation of production costs.
  • Work closely with production teams to validate job costing data and investigate discrepancies.
  • Maintain accurate and timely data within the accounting system.
  • Assist with reviewing job cost information and identifying variances or inconsistencies.
  • Reconcile balance sheet accounts, including production-related accounts such as raw materials, inventory, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
  • Review account balances and resolve discrepancies as needed.
  • Investigate and correct inconsistencies in account balances to ensure financial accuracy.
  • Maintain appropriate supporting documentation for account reconciliations.
  • Prepare and post journal entries related to manufacturing activities, ensuring proper documentation and compliance with accounting principles.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes, including journal entries and account reconciliations.
  • Support the timely and accurate preparation of financial statements and related reporting.
  • Maintain accurate general ledger records and supporting documentation.
  • Assist with both internal and external audits by providing requested documentation, job cost data, and financial information.
  • Support the preparation of audit schedules and supporting documentation.
  • Respond to auditor inquiries related to job costing, accounting records, and manufacturing processes.
