About The Position

Ascentec Engineering is hiring a Staff Accountant to play a vital role in our finance department, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial transactions, assisting with financial reporting, and supporting various accounting functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and a solid understanding of generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP). This is an excellent opportunity for an individual who is passionate about accounting and wants to contribute to the success of a dynamic manufacturing and engineering company. This position is on-site (not remote/not hybrid) at our Tualatin headquarters and is not eligible for Visa sponsorship or transfer of Visa sponsorship.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or higher degree with an accounting or finance emphasis required
  • 3+ years accounting experience required
  • Strong understanding of accounting theory and knowledge of GAAP
  • Knowledge of budget development, projections and variance analysis
  • Knowledge of fixed asset accounting, depreciation/amortization calculations
  • Experience with accounting software & ERP systems
  • Proficiency in Epicor and Microsoft Office software including Word, Outlook, and Excel (including vlookup, pivot tables, etc.) highly preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks/projects is a must

  • To conform to U.S. Government space technology export regulations, including the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) you must be a U.S. citizen, lawful permanent resident of the U.S., protected individual as defined by 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3), or eligible to obtain the required authorizations from the U.S. Department of State.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience working in a manufacturing environment highly preferred
  • CPA, CMA or MBA a plus, but are not required
  • Experience with cost accounting is preferred, but not required

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules
  • Facilitate and complete monthly close procedures
  • Prepare monthly account reconciliations
  • Ad Hoc Reporting/Projects
  • Assist in the processing of payroll and record payroll related accruals
  • Provide support before and during annual audit
  • Oversee credit card reconciliation
  • Oversee bank account reconciliation
  • Prepare monthly commission reports
  • Manage document control and policy/procedures for Accounting and HR departments
  • Assist with capital expenditure reporting and variance analysis
  • Maintain fixed asset ledger including depreciation/amortization entries
  • Assist with daily/weekly cash management
  • Provide backup for accounting staff
