We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant to join our finance team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for supporting day-to-day accounting operations, maintaining financial records, assisting with month-end close processes, and ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable regulations. This role requires a strong foundation in accounting principles, excellent analytical and communication skills, and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced private company environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • 1–3 years of experience in an accounting or finance role; private company experience preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP and general accounting principles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel; experience with accounting software (e.g., Sage) a plus.
  • High attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Nice To Haves

  • Pest Control or Service Industry experience is a plus.
  • Experience working with a Private Equity Firm.
  • Understanding of the full accounting cycle and financial statement reporting and analysis.
  • Familiarity with budgeting and forecasting.

Responsibilities

  • Process all accounts payable transactions.
  • Process daily cash activity in Sage.
  • Monthly account reconciliations for select balance sheet accounts.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries and accruals.
  • Reconcile, review, and post all payroll journal entries.
  • Provide support to the A/R Team.
  • Process and reconcile all month end A/R journal entry activity.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal financial statement reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with internal controls and company policies.
  • Assist with annual audits.
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives.
