Position: Staff Accountant, Trade Management Department: Finance Work Location(s): Plano, TX El Paso, TX Hybrid Schedule: At Helen of Troy, we embrace a flexible hybrid work model designed to support collaboration and productivity. For roles eligible for hybrid work, our standard schedule includes in-office collaboration from Tuesday through Thursday, with the option to work remotely on Mondays and Fridays. Any updates to this model will be communicated in advance. Please note that hybrid eligibility and schedules may vary based on business needs and manager expectations. What you will be doing: Reporting to the Accounting Supervisor, we are looking for a forward-thinking associate with proven abilities and achievements in a relevant accounting or finance role. You will be responsible for various tasks related to month end close, general ledger review, account reconciliation, and other tasks as assigned in support of shared services. Prepare transactions in accordance with Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.

Requirements

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Strong communication and collaboration abilities.
Bachelor's Degree in Accounting.
1+ years of work experience in Accounting (open to new graduates)
Intermediate to advanced abilities with MS Excel , Word, and PowerPoint.
Authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Nice To Haves

Oracle experience.
OneStream experience.
Hyperion Reporting or Essbase experience.

Responsibilities

Perform Trade Management programs accounting including advertising allowance, trade discount, etc.
Administrate and maintain the trade management module in Oracle.
Responsible for the trade management budget input.
General ledger journal entries, schedules, and analysis prepared in accordance with GAAP.
Month-end closing process tasks.
Complete account reconciliations for assigned general ledger accounts.
Cross-functional interaction with Sales, Finance, Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable and Business Units.
Process check requests via claim submission to AP team.
Account and variance analysis.
Assist with internal and external audit requirements.
Special projects and tasks as needed.
