About The Position

As a Staff Accountant at LSWG, you will be exposed to a wide range of diversified accounting and tax assignments under the guidance and supervision of experienced professionals. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in accounting
  • Proficiency in computer usage, spreadsheet software programs, and calculator operations.
  • Well-rounded knowledge of accounting principles and personal income taxes.
  • Strong organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple concurrent projects.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with CCH Engagement® and Axess®
  • Possession of a current and valid Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is preferred, or actively working towards obtaining the license by successfully completing the applicable state CPA exam.

Responsibilities

  • Record transactions in ledgers, prepare trial balances, and generate simple financial statements using computer software programs.
  • Reconcile accounts to control accounts for accurate financial reporting.
  • Perform schedule computations for accruals, property and equipment, and calculate depreciation expenses.
  • Carry out audit or review procedures as assigned by supervisors.
  • Prepare payroll tax, sales tax, local tax, and certain personal income tax returns.
  • Assist in proofing financial statements, tax returns, and other documents to ensure accuracy and quality.
  • Undertake additional accounting, auditing, and tax duties as needed in engagements and as assigned by supervisory personnel.
  • May be entrusted with senior-level responsibilities such as planning and scheduling engagements.
  • May be required to perform all phases of an engagement, including report writing and tax return preparation.
  • May provide supervision and guidance to other staff accountants.
  • Actively contribute to firm marketing efforts by joining and participating in civic organizations, attending firm-sponsored seminars, writing articles for publication, and identifying opportunities for additional client services and reporting.
