About The Position

Gelfand, Rennert & Feldman is seeking a Staff Tax Accountant to join our team of dedicated professionals. The Staff Accountant is responsible for the preparation of various reports in support of servicing clients, including the preparation of simple to moderately complex tax returns, as well as tax projections and tax research. This role operates on a hybrid schedule out of our White Plains, NY office.

Requirements

2-3 years of experience with preparing and/or reviewing individual, corporate, partnership, and trust tax returns
Bachelor's degree is required
Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, especially Excel and Word
Ability to learn new systems and process information quickly
Strong interpersonal skills and other key skills (i.e. communication, time management, attention to detail, adaptability, critical thinking, etc.)

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with AgilLink software is a plus
Familiarity with GoSystems and CCH tax software is a plus
Business management experience is a plus
CPA or CPA eligibility is highly preferred

Responsibilities

Prepare individual, corporate (S corp and C corp), partnership, estate, trust, fiduciary, and exempt organization tax returns
Review General Ledger and reports to assist in the preparation of tax projections
Perform tax research and planning to solve client’s tax issues, as needed
Correspondence regarding tax notices, jurisdictional issues, and/or tax audits
Prepare closeouts for loan-out corporations and analyze payroll withholding requirements for federal and state
Assist in the preparation of financial reports that may include net worth statements, cash flow schedules, meeting packages, budgets, investment analysis, tour reconciliations, etc.
Assist with state, local, and international tax clearances for touring artists
