About The Position

Alt Legal is seeking a Staff Accountant / Sr Accountant to manage day-to-day accounting operations across its US and UK entities. This hands-on, entry-to-mid-level role covers billing, accounts payable, monthly close, account reconciliations, and multi-currency transactions. The role supports the company’s finance consolidation plan by taking over day-to-day billing and accounts payable support and absorbing core month-end close tasks across the US and UK operating entities.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
1–3 years of accounting experience.
Experience with ERP/accounting software and Maxio.
Strong Excel skills.
High attention to detail and ability to manage deadlines across US and UK time zones.
Clear written and verbal communication skills.

Nice To Haves

Exposure to accounts payable, billing, and reconciliations.
Familiarity with multi-currency or multi-entity accounting.
Exposure to UK accounting/VAT basics.
Experience supporting month-end close in a small/mid-size company.

Responsibilities

Perform monthly bank reconciliations for multiple accounts and entities.
Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
Assist with month-end close tasks, including accruals, prepaids, and journal entries.
Maintain accurate, well-documented records to support audit readiness.
Support intercompany transaction tracking between US and UK entities.
Support billing and invoicing for US and UK entities, ensuring accuracy across multiple currencies.
Manage full-cycle accounts payable, including invoice entry, coding, approval routing, and payment processing.
Assist with ad hoc reporting, analysis, and process improvement initiatives.
Absorb and execute recurring month-end close tasks previously supported by external accounting advisors.
Prepare and review Deferred Revenue schedules.
