About The Position

DriveTime Family of Brands includes in-house financing and servicing through Bridgecrest, a leading financial servicing provider. Bridgecrest services approximately $25+ billion in finance receivables for DriveTime and other third parties, servicing auto loans across a wide credit spectrum to facilitate vehicle ownership for customers. As a Staff Accountant, you will perform key functions within the accounting segment, gaining broad exposure to various accounting areas. Working under the guidance of Senior Accountants and Controllers, your responsibilities will include preparing and recording journal entries, performing month-end reconciliations and analysis, and assisting with data compilation and validation for special projects and significant accounting models.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance.
  • 2-3 years’ overall experience in accounting.
  • Working Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Intermediate Excel skills.
  • Organization and time management skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and reporting abilities.
  • Detail-oriented.

Nice To Haves

  • Licensed CPA.
  • Accounting audit experience.
  • General Ledger experience.

Responsibilities

  • Preparing monthly reconciliations and journal entries for items such as cash, fixed assets, payroll, prepaids, general accruals, etc.
  • Completing month-end closing responsibilities.
  • Researching accounting guidance and making recommendations.
  • Assisting in the preparation and communication of management reports.
  • Supporting external and internal auditors with quarterly reviews and annual audits.
  • Working on process improvement, documentation, and control implementation.
  • Interacting with customers by providing monthly reporting, answering inquiries, and assisting with special projects.
  • Assisting in variance analysis on performance to budget and performance to forecasts.
