About The Position

As Staff Accountant III, you will be under limited supervision, prepare and review the most complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements, and other financial reports. Analyzes trends, costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. Reports organization's finances to management, and offers suggestions about resource utilization, and assumptions underlying budget forecasts. Provided additional support as needed within the department at all finance levels. Reporting directly to the Manager of Accounting, this position is based in Shreveport, LA. Due to payroll, tax, and employment law requirements, applicants must be located in one of these states at time of hire.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree is Finance/Accounting or related field, Will consider a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in lieu of degree.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant Finance and Accounting experience is required
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office including MS Excel, Word, Teams, and other software applications
  • Demonstrated aptitude for math and ability to perform detailed calculations and analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements.
  • Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and adjustments.
  • Assistance with month-end and year-end closing processes and ensure timely completion.
  • Perform account reconciliations and investigate variances or discrepancies.
  • Ensure compliance with GAAP, company policies, and accounting procedures.
  • Prepare and file sales tax, property tax, and other regulatory reports.
  • Assist with corporate tax preparation and supporting schedules.
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local reporting requirements.
  • Research accounting and tax issues as needed.
  • Monitor daily cash activity and maintain cash flow forecasts.
  • Reconcile bank accounts and investigate discrepancies.
  • Assist with treasury functions, wire transfers, and banking relationships.
  • Support cash management reporting and liquidity analysis.
  • Maintain fixed asset records and depreciation schedules.
  • Track asset additions, disposals, and transfers.
  • Perform periodic fixed asset reconciliations and physical inventory reviews.
  • Ensure compliance with capitalization policies.
  • Prepare and review bad debt reserves and write-off recommendations.
  • Reconcile statements and resolve Intercompany discrepancies.
  • Review and approve vendor invoices, expense reports, and payment batches.
