About The Position

This position is responsible for a variety of accounting functions under the guidance and supervision of the Accounting Manager. The primary role of the Staff Accountant II will focus on timely and accurate month-end close, maintaining account reconciliations, internal reporting, inventory, and various other projects. The duties of this position may change from time to time and/or based on business needs. We reserve the right to add or delete duties and responsibilities at the discretion of the supervisor and/or hiring authority.

Requirements

• 1-3 Years of experience with general ledger accounting (or public accounting).
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word is a must.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills with internal and external personnel.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical skills.
• Critical thinking skills and intellectual curiosity.
• Ability to complete tasks in a timely and efficient manner with minimal oversight.
• Team player willing to take on additional projects as needed.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with automation tools is a plus (Macros, Power Automate, AI)
• CPA designation or working towards a CPA designation is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Record and document the movement of inventoried items and perform monthly inventory reconciliations.
• Assist with physical inventory counts (at least annually in CA).
• Administer the revenue recognition process including deferred revenue reconciliations.
• Record monthly journal entries and accurately reconcile balance sheet accounts.
• Oversee cash receipts and the payment application process.
• Ensure timely and accurate reporting for state sales tax returns.
• Maintain fixed assets subledger.
• Provide accurate and timely reports to the sales and administrative teams.
• Manage the collection of cash on bulk-sale contracts with varying contract terms.
• Record monthly accruals and other projects in conjunction with the financial statements.
• Complete ad-hoc requests as necessary.
