About The Position

The Accountant II will accurately and timely analyze and process daily and monthly transactions, in preparation of updating and recording into G/L. The role will also review work from other departments to determine appropriate coding, and perform reconciliations on a variety of balance sheet and income statement accounts.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
At least 2 years of accounting experience
Strong understanding of core accounting principles and month-end close processes
Experience preparing journal entries and account reconciliations
Intermediate proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., pivot tables, lookups)
Experience working with an ERP system (such as Oracle or similar)

Nice To Haves

3 years experience in a financial support capacity with general ledger, month-end close, and public accounting experience
Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Access capabilities
Knowledge of Oracle Accounting software

Responsibilities

Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries to general ledger accounts
Review and evaluate various balance sheet and income statement accounts to determine whether the accounts are correctly stated and initiate any changes needed in the general ledger by posting the necessary journal entries
Prepare reconciliations on various balance sheet and income statement accounts, as assigned
Monitor compliance with GAAP (generally accepted accounting principles) and company procedures
Review, investigate and correct errors and inconsistencies in financial entries, documents and reports
Search for new and improved ways of conducting financial processes
Assist with audit requests and prepare audit workpapers, as assigned
Serve as backup for other accounting staff as needed
Monitor month-end closing procedures
Review and post general journal entries prepared by other accounting staff
Review reconciliations prepared by others
