About The Position

AAA Club Alliance is hiring for a Staff Accountant II to join our team! This role involves recording, analyzing, and reporting financial information, actively participating with other internal departments to ensure accounting issues are addressed in a timely manner, and preparing various accounting entries and reports monthly. The position requires applying analytical thinking to current processes, researching unusual items, recommending changes to improve efficiency, and documenting accounting treatment for new processes. Additionally, the Staff Accountant II will complete special assignments requiring high levels of confidentiality, integrity, and quality for the AAA Mid-Atlantic organization. This role also requires maintaining knowledge of industry standards like GAAP and IFRS, communicating the impact of changes to the supervisor, and providing audit assistance as needed.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science Degree in Accounting.
  • Two to Three years accounting experience in a corporate accounting environment.
  • Proficiency in the use of PC worksheet applications, word document applications and database related programs, e.g., Microsoft Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Crystal Reports, and SQL.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required, including the ability to effectively interact with all levels of management within the organization.
  • Demonstrates accurate numerical ability and high-attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Records, analyzes and reports financial information and makes appropriate inquiries of operations to obtain a broad understanding of the nature of the financial activity.
  • Actively participates with other internal departments to ensure that accounting issues are addressed in a timely manner.
  • Prepares various accounting entries and reports monthly.
  • Applies analytical thinking to current processes and researches unusual items.
  • Recommends changes in methods and procedures to improve efficiency.
  • Documents accounting treatment for new processes.
  • Completes special assignments entailing high levels of confidentiality, integrity, and quality for the AAA Mid-Atlantic organization as assigned.
  • Maintains knowledge of industry’s development of standards, e.g., GAAP, IFRS, etc., and communicates the impact of these changes to the supervisor.
  • Provides interim and annual audit assistance as needed.
