The Incumbent assists with the operation of the finance department to include the Accounts Payable, Payroll, Billing, Project Accounting, General Ledger, and other accounting functions.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration or Accounting. Five (5) years of progressively responsible accounting experience may be substituted for formal education requirement.
  • Experience using standardized payroll software for data entry, processing, and inquiry.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel and Word at an intermediate level or higher.
  • Customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Valid state Driver’s License with acceptable driving record pertinent to the position.
  • Ability to successfully pass any background checks and/or drug testing required on the contract.
  • U.S. Citizenship.

Responsibilities

  • Perform cost analysis and support month end close activities.
  • Review and resolve cost file discrepancies and reporting errors.
  • Analyze contract costs and labor metrics for accuracy and compliance.
  • Provide financial data, insights, and support to internal stakeholders.
  • Build and maintain annual and mid year operating plans and forecasts.
  • Prepare monthly billings, accruals, and financial adjustments.
  • Establish and update financial baselines; monitor variances.
  • Participate in recurring financial and program review meetings.
  • Respond to ad hoc financial data and reporting requests.
  • Conduct peer reviews of proposals and contract modifications.
  • Support indirect rate development and cost allocation processes.
  • Analyze actuals versus projections and identify key variances.
  • Review monthly charging and labor utilization for accuracy.
  • Timely and cost-effective performance of duties.
  • Harmoniously working with other employees and customers.
  • Working with the Project Principals to fully coordinate all activities.
  • Effectively coordinate a number of projects simultaneously.
  • Demonstrated ability to work well under pressure.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Demonstrating initiative and problem-solving skills.
  • Contributing to the successful completion of project initiatives.
