About The Position

Attentive Care is an award-winning home health care agency serving the Capital Region, is seeking a detail-oriented Part-Time Staff Accountant / Bookkeeper to join our team. This role plays a vital part in maintaining the financial health of our agency by ensuring accurate accounting records and supporting our finance operations. You will work in a collaborative, hybrid environment based in Albany, NY, contributing directly to our ongoing success and compliance in the healthcare sector.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience as a bookkeeper, staff accountant, or similar accounting role
  • Hands-on experience with general ledger accounting activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
  • Experience with accounts payable processing, such as invoice entry and check runs
  • Experience supporting payroll processing
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Excel
  • Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting software
  • Authorization to work in the United States

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in healthcare or home care accounting or bookkeeping
  • Familiarity with Medicaid billing

Responsibilities

  • Maintaining and updating spreadsheets, databases, and financial filing systems
  • Managing general ledger activity, supporting schedules, and financial reports
  • Processing invoices, accounts payable entries, and check runs
  • Recording credit card expenses and merchant account statements
  • Recording cash receipts and performing system reconciliations
  • Assisting with payroll processing and related reporting
  • Supporting the preparation of annual financial statements
  • Contributing to budgeting and financial forecasting processes
  • Assisting with limited accounts receivable activity
  • Preparing and producing compliance, regulatory, state, and payroll benefits allocation reports
