About The Position

The Stacker is responsible for palletizing products on pallets according to product codes and dates. This role participates as a member of the team, contributing to ongoing development and implementation of team concepts, programs, and policies. The individual must be familiar with Simmons’ established operating systems, including quality, security, and office environment policies, and understand their role in supporting these systems. This position also involves performing other duties as necessary to support business objectives and requires attention to detail to ensure there are no mixed pallets. The role demands good decision-making and effective communication skills with others and the leadership team.

Requirements

• Must have the ability to make good decisions and communicate effectively with others and leadership team.
• Requires occasional walking; squatting; talking.
• Requires frequent bending at the waist and neck; grasping (power & simple); fine manipulation/ feeling; pushing/pulling; reaching above, at, and below shoulder level; repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms and hands; hearing; lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds.
• Requires constant standing; twisting of the neck and waist; use of vision.
• Must wear ear plugs, gloves, hair net/beard net, required footwear, smock, and freezer coat depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Place a proper empty pallet and slip sheet on line to be stacked.
• Stack pallets according to product codes and dates.
• Rotate each layer until pallets are at the proper case counts.
• Participates as a member of the team, fostering strong cohesiveness and resolving issues.
• Maintains familiarity with Simmons’ established operating systems and communicates concerns and improvement ideas.
• Performs other duties as necessary in support of business objectives.
