About The Position

The Stacker Operator is responsible for operating the Brite Stacker machine to stack cans on pallets, ensuring correct product codes and production dates are maintained. This role involves monitoring the stacking process, performing quality checks on cans, maintaining records, and ensuring the work area is clean. The operator must be able to interpret safety rules and operating procedures, communicate effectively, and apply common sense to follow instructions.

Requirements

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and procedure manuals.
Ability to communicate with others orally.
Ability to add and subtract two-digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's.
Ability to perform operations using units of weight measurement and volume.
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out and interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.

Responsibilities

Verify that the daily production data matches the product being produced prior to start.
Stack cans on pallets using the Brite Stacker, ensuring segregation by product code.
Remove jammed cans near and around the machine while monitoring stacked product.
Ensure items sent to the warehouse have the correct product codes and production dates using the pallet production identification ticket.
Conduct emboss code and temperature checks on cans every 30 minutes to ensure proper cooking.
Report issues out of acceptable parameters to supervisor and lab.
Ensure cans continue flowing into the Brite stacker and inspect cans during this process, sending dented cans to rework and oily cans for cleaning.
Understand the can color coding system in the “Marked Can Changeover Policy”.
Maintain records and paperwork regarding temperature checks and product completion.
Communicate with forklift drivers as necessary.
Keep area clean by performing daily general sanitation.
Other duties as assigned.
