As an Environmental Field-Testing Technician Intern, you will work alongside experienced professionals to perform stack emissions testing at industrial facilities. This role involves outdoor work, often at elevated heights, and travel to customer locations throughout your region or state. If you enjoy being active, working with your hands, and learning in the field—not behind a desk—this internship is for you.

Requirements

  • Valid driver's license
  • Willingness to work outdoors in various weather conditions
  • Ability to climb ladders and stairs and work at elevated heights
  • Ability to lift equipment up to 50 lbs and perform physically demanding tasks
  • Ability to distinguish between shades of color (required for safety)

Nice To Haves

  • Coursework or degree in environmental science, engineering, mechanical sciences, or a related field
  • Experience or interest in environmental sampling, mechanical, construction, or electrical work
  • Comfort using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and Adobe products
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn technical systems

Responsibilities

  • Assist with and learn to independently perform stack emissions testing, including equipment preparation, deployment, sample collection, and breakdown.
  • Safely transport and set up testing equipment at customer sites.
  • Properly use testing methods, procedures, and quality standards.
  • Perform basic mechanical and electrical troubleshooting of testing systems.
  • Maintain professional on-site conduct while working directly with customers.
