About The Position

This position assists in a wide range of specialized testing, experimental work and technical support activities in a research and development function. Performs a range of support activities to enable the smooth operation of the R&D environment. Assist senior technicians and scientists with ongoing projects, plant trials, and technical support activities Perform basic sample preparation, handling, and testing according to defined procedures and schedules Accurately record data, observations, and test results in appropriate systems Assist senior staff in summarizing results and preparing reports Support instrument set up, calibration checks and inform senior leaders of any maintenance that may need to be performed Follow all laboratory safety, quality, and environmental procedures including proper PPE use Develop an understanding of systems, data integrity, and continuous improvement concepts

Requirements

  • High school diploma with completion of: General chemistry lecture course General chemistry laboratory course Algebra II OR Bachelor’s degree in chemistry, physical, or natural sciences
  • Working knowledge of a laboratory environment and ability to perform tasks in accordance with established safety procedures and guidelines
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and planning skills
  • Experience with basic spreadsheet and word processing software applications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team and the flexibility to take on a variety of duties
