About The Position

In this position, you will serve as the global authority for Assembly manufacturing processes within Supplier Technical Assistance. Your mission is twofold: to drive excellence across our supply chain and to standardize the technical competency of the global STA team. You will lead the industrialization of cutting-edge technologies and ensure that every member of the STA organization is equipped with the knowledge to enforce Ford’s rigorous assembly standards.

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science/Engineering (or academic equivalent) in a relevant technical discipline.
  • Extensive experience in Assembly Processes and Controls, with deep expertise in: Fastening Systems (DC tools, torque strategy, and control limits), Material Dispense (Adhesives, sealants, and flow monitoring), Press Fit Systems and Force-Distance Monitoring, Testing (Leak testing and End-of-Line/EOL), Vision Systems and Error Proofing/Poka-Yoke controls.
  • Advanced proficiency in Quality Tools and structured problem-solving methodologies (e.g., 8D, DMAIC).
  • Proficiency in English with a proven ability to translate complex technical concepts into actionable training for global teams.
  • A self-motivated work ethic and the ability to travel 50-75% of the time to drive results on the shop floor.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in developing technical curriculum or coaching engineering teams in a manufacturing environment.
  • Approximately 8+ years in manufacturing processes with a heavy emphasis on complex assembly.
  • Familiarity with Ford vehicle/powertrain development and launch processes (GPDS/Phased PPAP).
  • Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams and provide technical guidance to senior management.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or equivalent Lean Manufacturing certification.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the lead technical educator, developing and delivering comprehensive training programs to upskill the global STA team in Assembly Processes and Controls.
  • Lead the global assembly strategy by instilling a culture of technical excellence and rigorous quality standards within both the supply base and our internal teams.
  • Serve as the Global Lead for Assembly manufacturing, deploying process standards, lessons learned, and technical innovations to ensure supplier readiness.
  • Lead deep-dive technical investigations into significant quality issues (Field Actions, Stop Ships, Warranty) and implement robust, permanent corrective actions.
  • Utilize the GTDS process to lead Manufacturing Risk Assessments and support the seamless integration of new technologies into the assembly domain.
  • Execute high-impact manufacturing process assessments and "calibrate" the broader STA team on how to conduct rigorous, data-driven assembly audits.
  • Partner with Product Development to provide critical feasibility input, ensuring that our designs are optimized for high-quality assembly.
  • Travel throughout the region and globally (50-75%) to provide on-site technical leadership, supplier support, and hands-on team training.
