About The Position

The STA Engineer - PTO Resident leads critical supplier quality efforts to improve Supplier Quality Reject (QR) performance and supports supplier-process warranty concern resolution. The role coordinates supplier containment and root-cause work, partners with Plant Manufacturing and Supplier Technical Assistance (STA) teams, and helps manage quality issues that may affect production or vehicle release. It also supports quality reporting, supplier reviews, and plant quality forums.

Requirements

Bachelor of Science or Engineering degree, or equivalent technical/manufacturing aptitude.
At least 2 years of Plant Manufacturing experience.
Ability to develop and present materials to senior leadership on short timelines.

Responsibilities

Lead the Critical Supplier Process to improve Supplier Quality Reject performance.
Participate in Whiteboard reviews and assigned sub-system Powertrain Variability Reduction Team meetings.
Drive resolution of external supplier-process -3MIS, 1MIS, and 0MIS warranty concerns.
Support QR procedures, including concern binning, reviewing threshold QRs, and resolving QR disputes.
Assist Incoming Quality with non-responsive suppliers and help suppliers and plants improve QR/PPM data accuracy.
Coordinate part-quality confirmation for suppliers with repetitive containment failures.
Lead containment for special-cause supplier-process -1MIS and 0MIS SIMPSN and BSAQ projects.
Drive root-cause analysis with selected critical-to-quality suppliers.
Align with PRT on Supplier Process SIMPSN and BSAQ issues for Glidepath values.
Notify and engage the STA Site team early about potential supplier-process Stop Shipments.
Support containment of supplier Stop Ship issues and help the Site STA team track vehicle On-Hold and Release processes.
Work with Stop Ship stakeholders to support accurate root-cause reporting for Prevent Action Closure.
Monitor the daily production report and notify STA management of issues requiring Site STA awareness or intervention.
Represent suppliers and serve as a liaison between STA and manufacturing plant management.
Support Daily Plant Quality Meetings (PIC Room) by reporting on containment of Supplier Process warranty issues.
Participate in PRT forums and lead supplier preparation for Powertrain Quality Reviews.
