Student Support Services (SSS) is part of the federal TRIO programs through the Department of Education. The program is designed to help first-generation, low-income, and students with disabilities progress through college to earn a degree. The services provided include but are not limited: advising, tutoring, advice and assistance in course selection, provide information on financial aid, financial literacy education, and assist students in transferring to a four-year institution. The SSS Academic Coordinator is responsible to the TRIO Director. The primary purpose is to recruit, counsel, arrange academic and other support services for eligible DSCC students who are first generation college and/or low-income students in order for them to successfully complete their degree.
