About The Position

Gainwell is seeking an experienced SSRS/SSIS Reporting Business Analyst to act as a liaison between business stakeholders and technical teams. The role gathers and translates business reporting needs into detailed requirements, analyzes data, defines source-to-target mappings, supports SSRS/SSIS development, and validates reporting and data-integration solutions. The position combines business analysis skills with hands-on SQL and reporting and data-analysis experience. The analyst will work with business and technical teams to document requirements and specifications, support report and ETL development, perform data research and testing, coordinate UAT, and investigate production issues. The position is fully remote for candidates located in the contiguous United States.

Requirements

3–5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst, Reporting Analyst, Data Analyst, or similar technical role.
Experience working with Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS).
Working knowledge of SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS) and ETL/data-integration concepts.
Strong SQL/T-SQL skills, including the ability to query, analyze, reconcile, and validate data.
Experience developing report specifications, business requirements, data mappings, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
Experience with source-to-target mapping and data-transformation requirements.
Strong understanding of relational databases and data relationships.
Experience performing report and data validation, defect management, and UAT.
Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and root-cause-analysis skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work effectively with technical and business stakeholders.

Nice To Haves

Experience with SQL Server, SSRS, SSIS, SSDT, Visual Studio, and T-SQL.
Knowledge of stored procedures, views, functions, and complex SQL queries.
Experience with Power BI, data warehousing, or business intelligence solutions.
Healthcare, Medicaid, pharmacy, claims, or government program experience.

Responsibilities

Gather, analyze, document, and manage business, reporting, and data requirements.
Translate business needs into functional requirements, user stories, acceptance criteria, report specifications, and data mappings.
Define SSRS report requirements, including fields, parameters, filters, calculations, grouping, sorting, and business rules.
Partner with developers to support development and enhancement of SSRS reports and SSIS/ETL processes.
Analyze source and target data and develop source-to-target mapping documentation.
Use SQL queries to research data, validate report results, reconcile discrepancies, and support root-cause analysis.
Document data transformation and validation rules for SSIS processes.
Work with business and technical teams to understand database tables, views, stored procedures, data relationships, and system interfaces.
Develop test scenarios and test cases and perform functional, integration, regression, and data-validation testing.
Coordinate and support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) and business sign-off.
Investigate production reporting and data issues and coordinate resolution across business, development, and database teams.
Maintain requirements traceability and ensure delivered solutions meet approved business requirements.
