SRE/Infrastructure Engineer

E2BSan Francisco, CA
$200,000 - $350,000Hybrid

About The Position

E2B is a fast-growing Series A startup with 8-figure revenue, having raised over $37M since its founding in 2023. Our customers include companies like Microsoft, Perplexity, Hugging Face, Manus, and Groq. We are building the next hyperscaler for AI agents. In this role, you will own the Terraform, Kubernetes, and cloud plumbing that enables E2B to run millions of sandboxes. Currently, our infrastructure runs on Nomad and Terraform across Google Cloud, with multi-cloud expansion in progress. You will be instrumental in migrating us to Kubernetes, building reusable Terraform components, and hardening our self-hosted and BYOC deployments. This position requires a hands-on infrastructure engineer who is proficient in Terraform and Kubernetes, and who leverages modern AI tooling to enhance productivity.

Requirements

  • 5+ years operating production cloud infrastructure.
  • Owned Terraform and at least one orchestrator (Kubernetes, Nomad, ECS) in production.
  • Experience building modules, managing state, debugging drift, and managing production incidents.
  • Hands-on Kubernetes experience at meaningful scale, beyond tutorial stages, with real workloads, traffic, and on-call responsibilities.
  • Ability to discuss ingress, RBAC, and autoscaling in Kubernetes.
  • Multi-cloud comfort, with expert depth in at least one cloud (Google Cloud, AWS, or Azure).
  • Experience configuring VPCs, managing IAM, setting up private networking, and debugging routing and DNS.
  • Terraform as a first-class skill, including reading and writing modules, and understanding state, workspaces, and module boundaries.
  • Comfortable reading and writing code (Go and Terraform) when necessary for debugging or small fixes.
  • Tolerance for startup pace, including working with ambiguity and taking initiative.
  • Familiarity with high-scale environments, either a high-traffic online product or an infrastructure-product company.
  • Excited to work in person from San Francisco on a DevTool product.

Nice To Haves

  • Deep cloud expertise in AWS, GCP, or Azure.
  • Experience building self-hosted or BYOC deployments for enterprise customers.
  • Contributions to open-source infrastructure projects (Terraform providers, Kubernetes operators, Cloudflare modules).
  • Experience assisting infra-side AI tooling (Claude, Codex) with production migrations.

Responsibilities

  • Make our BYOC offering ready for AWS, Google Cloud, and Azure marketplaces.
  • Own and extend our Terraform footprint across Google Cloud, AWS, and Azure.
  • Build reusable Terraform components (networking, IAM, secrets).
  • Wire up observability and tighten the loop between infra change and production behavior.
  • Make BYOC and self-hosted deployments fast and repeatable for our largest customers.

Benefits

  • Full healthcare coverage
  • Vision insurance
  • Dental insurance
  • Unlimited PTO
