About The Position

We are seeking a Site Reliability Engineer (SRE) to help establish and scale our client's Google Cloud Platform (GCP) SRE practice. This is a unique opportunity to join a team during its formative stage and play a key role in building the operational foundation, automation frameworks, and reliability processes that will support long-term cloud operations. During the first 6 months, the primary focus will be on creating runbooks, defining operational standards, developing automation, and helping build the SRE function from the ground up. As the organization matures, the role will transition into a traditional SRE position focused on reliability engineering, automation, observability, scalability, and platform optimization. This role is ideal for engineers who enjoy building systems and processes from scratch and want to have a lasting impact on a growing cloud environment.

Requirements

• Strong automation and software engineering experience.
• Hands-on development experience with Python and Java.
• Experience creating tools, scripts, and automated workflows to improve operational efficiency.
• Proven experience in a true SRE environment.
• Strong technical and engineering mindset with demonstrated experience solving reliability, scalability, and performance challenges.
• Knowledge of monitoring, observability, incident response, and reliability best practices.
• Experience with at least one major cloud platform: Google Cloud Platform (GCP) preferred, Amazon Web Services (AWS), Microsoft Azure.
• Understanding of cloud-native architectures and operational best practices.

Nice To Haves

• Experience with Terraform is highly preferred, though the client is willing to provide training for candidates with strong automation backgrounds.

Responsibilities
