Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or five years plus related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of hands-on related experience required, previous integration experience preferred.
  • Extensive knowledge of robotic systems and processes (MIG welding, spot welding, material handling, drawn arc, etc.…).
  • Ability to write programs from scratch, background edit, and perform touch-ups.
  • Ability to calibrate robots, specifically, single axis or full zero master.
  • Certifications in robotics (programming, mechanical, electrical, FANUC, Motorman, Nachi and/or ABB) preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel.
  • Ability to understand and configure robot I/O (Digital, Group, User, Safety).
  • Ability to modify and setup User and Tool Frames, TCP, and/or Payload.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee and coordinate all robotic process changes and improvement activities including robotic back-ups in the Plant.
  • Troubleshoot electrical, mechanical, and program-related robotic issues, including auxiliary equipment.
  • Performs audits to robotic equipment and programs as required.
  • Completes responsibility in robotic safety procedures and setup.
  • Provide guidance on preventative maintenance procedures for robots.
  • Monitor line cycle time and directly responsible for machine process time in the line.
  • Develop the robotics training program for maintenance/support employees and administer testing as required.
  • Develop and execute process changes for processes with support from cross functional team.
  • Perform basic, intermediate, and high-level programming as required.
  • Performs PLC troubleshooting/programming, as necessary.
  • Develop continuous improvement activities within a multi-disciplinary team.
  • This role is part of Engineering Team (Welding Engineers, Controls Engineers, and Engineering Coordinator all reporting to the Engineering Manager.
