About The Position

Supports the day-to-day work activities in assigned area(s) including across multiple campuses. Acts as the secondary contact point for all customers and suppliers and is responsible for understanding and championing their needs within the guidelines of the Company’s goals, Mission, and Vision. Assists with resource allocation including making changes to the Manning schedule when needed. Responsible for the timely and accurate handling of all in-bound and out-bound orders, from placement, through processing and procurement. Troubleshoots and finds resolution for order irregularities. Operates as a mentor to personnel. Works closely with internal and external customers.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or State-issued equivalency certificate.
  • 5 years of experience in logistics, manufacturing, and/or material handling reflecting increasing levels of responsibility; OR 4 years of G3 experience in logistics, manufacturing, and/or material handling reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Advanced level experience using a Production Management System and/or Warehouse Management System.
  • Ability to obtain Forklift Driver certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Required to work 8 hours shift with the ability to work 12-hour shifts, day or night shift, on multiple campuses as needed.
  • Experience reading and interpreting documents such as Bill of Landing (BOL), instruction sheets, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Required to lift and move up to 50 pounds.
  • Possess strong decision-making and organization skills.
  • Experience conveying simple requests and needs to coworkers and management.
  • Skilled in adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing.
  • Skilled in maintaining a clean, safe and orderly work area.
  • Experience with using company resources in a cost-effective manner.
  • Experience with working in a team environment.
  • Required to travel to company offices, sites, and/or meeting locations for onboarding, training, meetings, and events for development, department needs, and business delivery up to 5% of the time, with or without reasonable accommodation. This may be in addition to travel requirements, if applicable, as listed in this job description.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors degree.
  • 6 years of experience in warehousing, manufacturing or material handling reflecting increasing levels of responsibility.
  • Class 4 and 5 Powered Industrial Trucks certification.
  • Experience working with high performance work teams and providing support to achieve plan goals.
  • Skilled in logistics scheduling, dispatching, leadership and mentoring.
  • Experience with a Grape Management System.
  • Skilled in handling unusual or difficult inquiries/situations through direct personal action or refer to the appropriate individual.
  • Bilingual -Spanish.

  • Uses discretion required in dealing with confidential information.
  • Experience with multitasking and time management.

Responsibilities

  • Manages order-related activity including sales orders, replenishment orders, and work orders.
  • Performs inventory checks, researches and performs high-level troubleshooting of order irregularities in WMS/PMS including tracing products, reviewing quantities of orders and making adjustments as needed.
  • Works closely with all customers and provides system support, order and inventory information, daily communication and follow-up as needed.
  • Plans daily activities and resource requirements including assisting with development of and adjustments to manning schedule and may include dock scheduling depending upon area of assignment.
  • Helps to develop and execute production plans and assigns areas of responsibility.
  • Attends shift change meetings, and conducts the meeting in Team Leader's absence as needed.
  • As needed, communicates information to team members related to activities, programs, schedule changes and upcoming jobs.
  • Actively involved in employee recognition and provides input on employee performance.
  • Serves as a support and provides direction to temporary employees and Warehouse Assistants, aiding them in balancing workload and activities on a daily basis.
  • Monitors and reviews the progress and accuracy of assigned work.
  • Measures metrics against productivity and throughput on various system transactions.
  • Monitors the effectiveness of systems, policies and procedures; makes appropriate recommendations to ensure daily operations are efficient.
  • Participates in the implementation and design of best business practices.
  • Operates lifts as needed and may serve as forklift certification trainer for personnel.
  • Monitors and directs production programs to ensure all projects are efficient and cost effective.
  • Utilizes reports to forecast and adjust utilization needs for the week, makes daily scheduling changes based on tonnage fluctuations.
  • Initiates and manages short term projects in partnership with the Team Leader.
  • Supports and practices all established safety programs and policies.
  • Maintains a clean, safe, and orderly work area.
  • Maintains satisfactory attendance, to include timeliness.
  • Responsible for understanding and complying with applicable quality, environmental and safety regulatory considerations.
