Sr. Video Editor, Creative Studio

RivianIrvine, CA
Onsite

About The Position

We are seeking a detail-oriented Sr. Video Editor to join our Creative Studio team. The focus of this role will be to support our editors and producers through the technical stages of post-production—including complex project preparation, conforming for color, high-volume versioning, and media archival. This is a critical, highly technical support role that requires a significant on-site presence at our Irvine HQ to manage all media ingestion and maintain the centralized SNS server. The ideal candidate is passionate about solving technical problems, ensures projects are perfectly organized, and is proactive in establishing efficient post-production infrastructure. You thrive in fast-paced environments, working under tight deadlines while balancing multiple projects and priorities, and are excited to learn from senior editors and grow your craft over time.

Requirements

  • 2–3 years of experience in video post-production, assistant editing, or a similar role (agency, in-house, or freelance).
  • Portfolio or reel demonstrating technical precision and clean, organized final output.
  • Solid command of post-production workflows, including proxies, relinking, complex EDL/AAF/XML conformance, and multi-format exports.
  • Proven experience managing shared storage environments (e.g., SNS, Avid Nexis) and maintaining remote desktop access for editorial teams.
  • Advanced proficiency in Adobe Premiere.
  • Proficiency in DaVinci Resolve is required for dailies generation and conforming.
  • Experience with high-volume versioning and delivery for social, web, and paid channels, including subtitling/captioning workflows.
  • Strong organizational skills, comfort working within shared project structures and file systems, and experience with media library tagging and metadata application.
  • Ability to manage multiple high-priority projects simultaneously.
  • Collaborative spirit, a sense of humor, and an openness to adopting AI-assisted workflows and emerging technologies is essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

  • Own the media pipeline by performing all footage ingestion, backup, and archival.
  • Execute hands-on file organization and maintain the integrity of the SNS server and remote editing environment, ensuring project accessibility and uptime for the entire remote editing team.
  • Prep, sync, and organize larger projects for senior editors (proxy creation, selects sequences).
  • Utilize advanced technical workflows (EDL/AAF/XML conformance) to execute complex project conforms and deliver color-ready timelines to the Colorist.
  • Utilize DaVinci Resolve to generate dailies and initial viewing files by applying standard technical LUTs, ensuring look and color consistency across all edits prior to the Colorist.
  • Manage final exports and versioning for high-volume delivery across social and CTV channels (16:9, 9:16, 1:1).
  • Execute thorough QC passes (video and audio) and ensure subtitles/captions are correctly integrated into all 9:16 assets.
  • Take the lead on manual clip tagging and metadata application.
  • Organize footage and manage Rivian’s digital media library (DAM), including clear file naming and folder structures.
  • Assist remote editors with minor technical troubleshooting, project relinking, and performance issues.
  • Stay current on evolving platform specs and actively explore opportunities to incorporate the latest industry technology and AI-assisted post-production workflows.
  • Assist with sound clean-up and basic audio balancing in collaboration with senior editors.
