About The Position

Amazon Delivery's Customer Experiences team (ADX CX) is seeking a Sr. UX Researcher to drive continuous understanding of customers and shape future product development, focusing on delivery speed promises and physical experience locations like Same-Day delivery and Amazon Lockers. The goal is to transform customer uncertainty about deliveries into confidence.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on work with: field research, ethnography, lab-based user testing, remote testing, paper prototype testing, iterative prototype testing, concept testing, and survey design experience
  • Bachelor's degree in HCDE, Human Factors, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field
  • Experience in leading User Research projects with demonstrated impact
  • Experience with field research, ethnography, lab-based user testing, remote testing, paper prototype testing, iterative prototype testing, concept testing, and survey design
  • Experience with all aspects of research (study design, recruiting, moderation, analysis, reporting)
  • Experience with behavioral data collection, quantitative data analysis, and statistics
  • Have a portfolio demonstrating past work experience and deliverables (e.g., study plans, reports, personas)
  • Experience with retail or e-commerce research in a global context
  • 5+ years of proven success leading User Research projects with demonstrated influence on product roadmaps or business decisions

Nice To Haves

  • Master's degree in Human Factors, HCDE, Cognitive Psychology or equivalent
  • Experience in a technical field (software development, network development, IT, other related)
  • Experience with UX Research in non-US markets
  • Experience working in a highly Agile/Scrum environment

Responsibilities

  • Design and maintain research programs (recurring studies, insight repositories, shared frameworks) to ensure customer needs are central to product decisions and customer understanding compounds over time.
  • Craft and execute research to identify emerging customer needs and de-risk new product directions, proposing solutions rooted in insights.
  • Partner with UX managers, designers, and product teams to pitch solutions to senior leaders.
  • Synthesize research into actionable recommendations that drive alignment, connecting findings across studies and translating customer behavior into product implications.
  • Leverage AI-powered research tools to enhance analysis, synthesis, and output quality, exploring new methodological approaches.
  • Coach designers, product managers, and engineers on effective customer insight gathering and application, making research accessible and scalable.
  • Partner with design managers and senior product partners to identify customer risks and opportunities and scope research.
  • Conduct and lead hands-on research, including in-person lab sessions, complex usability sessions, and large-scale surveys.
  • Synthesize findings into clear recommendations and present them to senior stakeholders.
  • Maintain and evolve living research repositories.
  • Coach designers and PMs on lightweight research practices.
  • Pitch innovative product concepts grounded in research to design managers and senior stakeholders.
