About The Position

We're looking for a Senior UX Designer to join the Kindle UX Design team - a group of passionate designers, researchers, and builders united by a single mission: to enable customers to read more. If you believe that reading changes lives and want your work to reach millions of people around the world, this role is for you. In this position, you'll own the end-to-end design of Kindle reading experiences - from early concept to launch. You'll translate complex customer problems into clear, elegant solutions and bring them to life through wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups. You'll work collaborate with product managers, engineers, researchers and other designers, grounding every decision in customer insight and data.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of UX design experience
  • A strong portfolio of end-to-end product work
  • Fluency in tools like Figma
  • Experience using AI in the design process
  • Experience designing for consumer hardware or mobile platforms
  • 8+ years of design experience
  • Have an available online portfolio
  • Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities

Nice To Haves

  • A background in reading apps, content discovery, or e-readers
  • Demonstrated ability to think beyond individual features - recognizing patterns, anticipating downstream effects, and designing with the whole system in mind, creating solutions that are scalable, coherent, and resilient as the product evolves.
  • Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate and elevate the design process, whether for research synthesis, rapid ideation, workflow efficiency, or prototype creation.
  • Experience designing scalable, interconnected solutions that account for how decisions ripple across a broader product ecosystem.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate and work closely with product management, engineering, and research from design concept to design solution, setting UX guidelines and driving cross-team collaboration and sharing, as well as establish best practices for interaction models and user interface designs throughout the team.
  • Work in a start-up style environment, where iteration is encouraged and design acumen is demonstrated through design end-to-end product ownership.
  • Communicate complex, interactive design concepts clearly and persuasively across different audiences and varying levels of the organization through excellent communication, presentation, interpersonal and analytical skills.
  • Earn trust with product managers to develop shared vision and use research and data to identify opportunities and inform decisions.
