Position Summary Johnson & Johnson MedTech Electrophysiology is seeking a Sr. Upstream Product Manager to help shape the future of cardiac ablation therapies. This highly visible role will lead global upstream strategy and early-stage innovation efforts across our electrophysiology portfolio, translating physician needs, market insights, and emerging technologies into differentiated product concepts and platform strategies. The successful candidate will collaborate across R&D, clinical, medical affairs, regulatory, downstream marketing, and commercial teams to define product requirements, influence technology roadmaps, and drive portfolio decisions that support long-term growth.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Life Sciences, Business, Marketing, or a related field.
  • 7+ years of experience in medical devices, healthcare, or a related industry.
  • 3+ years of experience in upstream marketing, product management, strategy, innovation, or product development.
  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional teams and influencing stakeholders without direct authority.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience developing forecasts, business cases, and market assessments.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Nice To Haves

  • MBA or advanced degree.
  • Experience in electrophysiology, cardiac rhythm management, cardiovascular devices, or other interventional specialties.
  • Experience with catheter-based technologies, mapping systems, or ablation therapies.
  • Experience supporting global product development and launch activities.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and drive strategic clarity in a fast-paced innovation environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead upstream product strategy for next-generation electrophysiology technologies and platforms.
  • Identify unmet clinical needs through physician engagement, Voice of Customer (VOC) research, and market assessments.
  • Translate customer insights into product requirements, value propositions, and innovation opportunities.
  • Partner with R&D to evaluate concepts, define user needs, and guide early-stage product development.
  • Develop market assessments, forecasts, business cases, and commercial strategies to support investment decisions.
  • Assess market trends, competitive dynamics, and emerging technologies to inform portfolio priorities.
  • Support portfolio planning and prioritization activities across therapy areas and technology platforms.
  • Collaborate with R&D, Clinical Affairs, Medical Affairs, Regulatory Affairs, and Commercial teams to align product strategy and development plans.
  • Influence key stakeholders and drive alignment across global and regional teams.
  • Support evidence-generation strategies and physician engagement activities that inform product development.
  • Monitor competitive products, clinical data, technology advancements, and market trends.
  • Evaluate opportunities to strengthen the EP portfolio through innovation, partnerships, or new technology areas.
  • Identify market barriers and adoption drivers to optimize future product strategies.
