About The Position

Business Risk Partners is a Program Administrator and Managing General Underwriting Agency focused on delivering specialty commercial liability coverage through a national network of agents and brokers. Business Risk Partners is seeking a Sr. MISC Professional Liability Underwriter to support and expand our Specialty Lines portfolio. This role is ideal for a seasoned underwriting professional with deep expertise in professional liability, authority to manage complex and non-standard risks, and the ability to contribute to underwriting strategy, mentorship, and portfolio growth. The Senior Underwriter will play a key role in driving underwriting excellence, profitability, and broker relationships.

Requirements

7+ years of underwriting experience, with significant experience in Professional Liability or Specialty Lines underwriting.
Bachelor’s degree required.
Advanced knowledge of professional liability coverage forms, endorsements, exclusions, and manuscript wording.

Responsibilities

Underwrite new and renewal Miscellaneous Professional Liability accounts within delegated underwriting authority and risk appetite.
Provide technical leadership on complicated or high-hazard risks, including coverage structure, pricing strategy, and terms.
Analyze and interpret professional exposures, financials, claims experience, contracts, and operational controls for non-standard risks.
Establish appropriate pricing, limits, retentions, coverage enhancements, and underwriting conditions to achieve profitability targets.
Maintain and grow a profitable book of business while meeting or exceeding production, retention, and loss ratio goals.
Build and deepen relationships with key agents and brokers through strategic engagement, responsiveness, and market presence.
