Requirements

  • Must possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned duties
  • Must possess A.R.D.M.S. and/or CCI Certification
  • Must have two years experience in cardiac ultrasound
  • Must have two years experience in adult echocardiology
  • Must demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the job
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
  • Ability to regularly travel locally to Ambulatory Practice off-site locations
  • Ability to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships across the Health System
  • Basic Life Support Certification
  • Must be able to provide proof of work authorization

Nice To Haves

  • Registered in pediatric echocardiography - RDCS
  • Must have two years of college with emphasis in Allied Health Sciences, preferably Diagnostic Medical Sonography
  • Knowledge of University and medical center organizations, policies, procedures and forms

Responsibilities

  • Perform the full range of cardiac diagnostic ultrasound procedures and the more complex specialized procedures on adult and pediatric patients.
  • Includes M-mode, 2 & 3 dimensional, color Doppler, pulsed Doppler, continuous wave Doppler, transesophageal echo, pharmacological and exercise stress echo, Holter monitors and ECGs.
  • Recognizes and describes abnormal findings and tailors the procedure to provide a comprehensive exam.
  • Makes the decision as to when an echo contrast agent &/or agitated saline injections according to the CVC policy.
  • Prepare and position patients, adjust equipment to best demonstrate area of interest, operate various stationary and portable equipment and imaging systems.
  • Rotate shifts and assignments as needed, including after hour on-call.
  • Assists in the training of fellows and students as assigned.
  • Requires traveling between all cardiology off-sites clinics where procedures are being performed.
