About The Position

Vanderlande Logistics LLC is seeking experienced Mechanical and Controls Technicians to support our team at Baltimore/Washington International Airport (BWI) in Sr. Technician roles. This position requires advanced technical knowledge and hands-on experience maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and testing baggage handling systems and their associated components in a fast-paced airport environment.

Requirements

  • Five (5) or more years of relevant industrial maintenance experience
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience required
  • Strong electro-mechanical troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Mechanical troubleshooting experience including: Belts, Bearings, Pulleys, Drives, Gearmotors
  • Industrial electrical troubleshooting experience including: 480V three-phase motors and control circuits, Electrical schematic reading and interpretation, Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs), Motor starters, Input/Output systems
  • Familiarity with: SCADA systems, Industrial network architecture, Servers, Ethernet and fiber optic networks, Managed network switches, Workstations, Barcode scanning systems
  • Experience utilizing Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) for: Preventive maintenance, Corrective maintenance, Scheduling, Inventory management, Work order documentation
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Basic supervisory and leadership skills involving scheduling, organization, communication, and computer systems
  • Ability to adhere to all safety regulations and safe work practices
  • Valid driver's license with a clean Motor Vehicle Record (MVR)
  • Ability to pass all airport-required background checks, security screenings, and TSA-related clearances
  • Must be legally authorized to work in the United States and not require current or future sponsorship for employment

Nice To Haves

  • Working knowledge of PLC systems and operations preferred

Responsibilities

  • Perform maintenance, repair, troubleshooting, and testing of the Baggage Handling System (BHS) and associated equipment.
  • Provide accurate and timely written reports related to safety, operational, and maintenance activities.
  • Interpret equipment and operational data and recommend maintenance schedule or activity adjustments to management.
  • Update and maintain daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance activity schedules.
  • Order and maintain an inventory of spare parts necessary for effective BHS operation.
  • Ensure all Preventive Maintenance (PM) and Predictive Maintenance (PdM) procedures are scheduled, completed, and documented.
  • Maintain compliance with all company, airport, and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities to improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency.
